Tramp Stamps, Millennials, and the Road to Cancer

In my youth, a tattoo was only seen on military men or bikers.  Otherwise it was something that was covered up.  One lady described it as her permanent reminder of temporary insanity. The poor choices made with the aid of an altered state of mind.  The label is or was a “tramp stamp”.  Today, it amazes me the number of individuals with tattoos.  Thirty eight percent of the Millennials (those born after 1980) (full report)have tattoos, compared with 32% of Generation X (1965-1980) and 15% of Baby Boomers(1946-1964).  Ironically, Millennials are more conscious of social issues, organic food, conservation via recycling, and healthful exercise.  For some a tattoo may be a way of feeling special, or an expression of individuality, devotion, or commemoration.

Most of the health focus is on the self-imposed cleanliness of the operator, equipment and facility.  The famous last words from someone you don’t know…“trust me”.  Death by 1000 puncture wounds via the magical manifestation of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, Epstein Barr Virus, tetanus, tuberculosis or any other imaginable blood born infectious disease?  While the initial and post tattoo pain is real, the other death by 1000 cuts is the slow un-noticed embracing of change with unwanted consequences that impact our heath.  The tattoo is nothing short of a future health risk.

The first rule of health is to avoid toxic material.  Few know the composition of tattoo ink that is no doubt toxic material foreign to the body.  So we inject toxic material into the skin.  The ink goes into the cell.  The impregnation of the cell is the fourth stage of disease.  The fifth stage is degeneration of the cell and the sixth is cancer.

The body has mechanisms to remove toxins from the body, which means the material may travel thru lymph fluid or blood to end up anywhere.  It is possible that the liver may not be able to process such chemicals, especially if viruses, nutrients, drugs or alcohol compromises it.  This means the toxin must be deposited in fat or connective tissue for storage.  This is the creation of a disease state that will never be connected to acts of youth.  Do we really need a more toxic personal environment?

Do No Harm and Risk Verses Benefit Medicine

The first concept in medicine is to do no harm.  This means that no medical treatment should do any harm.  While this is ideal, there are always risks.  There is a risk associated with making a decision just as there is a risk of being indecisive.

Another medical concept is risk verses benefit.  This means that a treatment or diagnostic procedure may give positive results but there is “xyz” risk associated with it.  In most cases full risks are not disclosed.  A risk verses benefit is of course a direct violation of the do no harm concept.  Since no one can foresee the future, there is no science in the risk/benefit concept.

There are times that there may be no choice in a decision.  This may include non-elective surgery.  Any surgery carries a risk.  There is also risk associated with getting pregnant or driving a car.  Risk is part of our daily lives but we would hope that a medical treatment is risk free carrying the benefit of wellness.

A study from the National Cancer Institute estimated there would be about 29,000 future cancers from CT scans done in 2007 alone.  Which individual would have guessed there is a risk or getting cancer from the radiation from a CT scan?  Proponents say in spite of this the CT scan has saved lives.  The question would be which ones?

I have not seen any mention of cancers caused by mammography.  It has always bothered me that this diagnostic medical procedure causes the disease they are looking for.  (Please see the Breast Health Blog.)

So when is it all right for a medical treatment or diagnostic procedure to cause a disease?  Medical decisions are choices that often require common sense and a clear head.

Natural Healing

We are created with the ability to heal.  If you cut your finger, you bleed and then you heal.  There will be a point in time that you will not even have a physical awareness of that injury.  Of course you could still remember but it is not on your mind.  The true healing of disease does not evoke thought or emotion relative to the event.  We continue our life as if nothing happened.

A “cure” implies the ability to end a disease.  This “cure” may involve a product, surgery, medical treatment, or lifestyle change.  The word cure is often viewed as absolute claim.  So, implying that a product will cure a disease is not accurate as it does not take the individual into consideration.  A cure is effective if when you remove the product or treatment, the symptom does not return.  A remission implies the symptoms of the illness are not present but the illness can return.

Healing is different to me as there could be a product involved, but there can also be mental, emotional or spiritual aspects.  There are many levels of healing.  Some may still have the physical manifestations of the illness but have healed on a spiritual and emotional level.

There is the common concept that we fight illness.  This concept is counterproductive to healing.  Just think about the mental image of fighting which creates mental disruption.  That is not to say that we may struggle when we are ill, but fighting creates damage.  Fighting is resistance or conflict.  To heal you must be resistance-free.

Most of us have known someone with cancer.  The very word “cancer”, creates a mental picture of the disease and evokes negative emotions.  Every time someone asks, and you say, “I have cancer”, the negative is reinforced.   Even the emotional experience is consumption.  At that moment, the focus is on the treatment for the cancer.  With that focus, one may miss other forms of healing.  One patient told me that getting cancer was the best thing that ever happened to him because he re-evaluated his life and made positive changes.

Illness often starts on the mental, emotional or spiritual plane and erupts in the physical.
Healing starts with changing your mind to create a mental environment that is conducive to healing.  Some healing traditions involve spiritual bathing, a baptism, the anointing of oil, or prayer.   So healing can be finding new balance in your life.  Making a conscious decision to heal creates a path to better health.

Natural Illness, Homeopathy and Children

It is natural to get sick.  Illness is the body’s immune system responding to something it does not like.  So it is normal to get the occasional cold.  Rejoice!  Your immune system is intact.  Getting sick all the time or never getting sick could be a sign that something is wrong.

The human body is an amazing creation with the natural ability to heal.  It has complexity that is difficult to truly understand.  Science is taught in compartments.  The cardiovascular system is separate from the digestive system, etc.  Learning compartments is helpful but it must be integrated into the whole person.  Disease is also compartmentalized and is called a diagnosis.  If you have a diagnosis then you know how to treat the disease with x,y, and z drugs.  Much has been put into the study of disease.  There are two missing pieces here: the study of the individual with the disease and an individual’s susceptibility to a disease.

The study of how toxins in humans are processed and how the body compensates for such toxins is called Homotoxicology.  It teaches that disease is either an appropriate defense in order to eliminate a toxin from the body or an attempt to compensate if elimination is not possible.  Toxins inside of the body are part of the normal metabolism and waste the body produces.  Toxins outside of the body include pollution, preservatives, chemicals, some bacteria and viruses.

The process of illness can be “compartmentalized”-first occurring outside of the cells of the body and second occurring inside of cells.  The body’s first defense or state of illness is excretion.  You sweat, your eyes water, your nose runs, you vomit, you get diarrhea.  If you suppress this process, such as taking something to stop diarrhea then the toxin stays in the body and creates the second state of illness known as inflammation.  If you take an anti-inflammatory, then you create the third state of illness where toxins are deposited in tissue for storage.  This is a protection mechanism.  THEN if you continue to suppress illness, in the fourth state, the toxin goes inside the cell known as impregnation.  This is followed by the fifth state, cellular degeneration, and finally the sixth stage of illness-CANCER.

Homeopathy is sometimes used as a treatment for problems such as diarrhea but it is not a suppressive therapy in the same sense as a pharmaceutical drug.  Children and animals respond quite well to homeopathics.  Natural Creations "CP" or child potency line makes is easy.  There is Baby Acne CP, Bedwetting CP, Colic CP (a must have remedy), Constipation CP, Croup CP, Diarrhea CP, Earache CP, Fever-Inflammation CP (another must keep remedy), Focus CP, Nausea CP, Raspy Cough CP, Runny Nose CP, Sleepy Time CP, Teething CP, and Vaccine Support CP.
